Quench not the spirit. Don't quench the Holy Spirit. To quench anything is to. We talk about quenching a fire. Or quenching our thirst. When you quench your thirst you stop that urge that desire for water. You put out that urge that desire. That's there for water that taste you have that urge for a drink of water God says don’t quench the Holy Spirit. What does it mean to quench the Holy Spirit? Well I believe it is simply this. In Philippians chapter 2 verse thirteen one of the great verses in the Word of God and one of my very favorite God says it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
