A missiological reading of the Gospel of John reveals that Jesus inaugurated a new system. Now the New Covenant is offered not only to Jews, but to the whole world, including Samaritans and Gentiles. Membership in the people of God now comes not by being born a Jew, nor by keeping Mosaic Law, but only through believing in Jesus.
