Abstract
Hebrews 10:19-39 is arranged chiastically: Aexhortation to continue with faith (10:19-25); Bconsequence of abandoning Christ (10:26-31); and A'exhortation to persevere in faith (10:32-39). Analysis of this passage shows that the author of Hebrews regarded Jesus as the object of faith for believers, even if it is not expressed in terms of "faith in Christ." In Hebrews faith is not simply an ethical category of steadfastness
