Dr. Lock served on the music faculty at Biola University, La Mirada, California from 1963 until his retirement in 2013 as Professor Emeritus of Voice and Church Music. He wrote numerous articles in scholarly periodicals, and was a columnist for the Canadian Encyclopedia of Music, as well as The Complete Library of Christian Worship. He also served in various editorial capacities for scholarly journals related to the study of church music, choral music, and voice.
