Description

If you would, please open up your Bibles to Luke chapter 12, Luke 12. With the time that we have, we want to look at verses 13 through 34. And the title I would put on this particular time that we have together is the foolishness of holding on to what is not there. This is a passage on greed. It's about possessions and money. And what we find as we go through these particular verses is that the true condition of our heart is defined by the actual concerns of our lives. If we want to see what is the condition of our heart, we can see it by noticing what are the concerns of our life. And I think we're going to find that in this passage, it's a passage about greed. It's about living for things. And Luke, as he does so often in his gospel, he's going to push us to face things that we may not be comfortable facing in our lives.
