Presentation Title

Holy Spirit and Spiritual Warfare

Session Number

Breakout session C

Location

Sutherland Auditorium

Description

What is spiritual warfare? Can a Christian be demon-possessed? Are we called to engage territorial spirits? Join Dr. Clint Arnold, Dean of Talbot and Oscar Merlo, Director of the Center for the Study and the Work and Ministry of the Holy Spirit Today. "To think that a Christian could avoid spiritual warfare is like imagining that a gardener could avoid dealing with weeds. Our goal should be rather to gain an accurate and sober-minded understanding of spiritual warfare, not a view tainted by frightening superstitions and odd practices." Oscar’s extensive practical experience will enrich the discussion from a Latino evangelical perspective.

Satan constantly searches for footholds in our life, but we can be confident in the promised power of the Holy Spirit within us, to fight against these opposing forces. God did not leave us weaponless when Jesus left this earth, he instead gave use the most powerful weapon he could. By praying constantly and allowing Jesus to clean out our hearts of the vices we try to hold onto, we have authority over demons. Always continue to pray.
