Abstract
How can our spiritual beliefs and religious traditions play a part in shaping our research as communication scholars? This essay explores areas where faith and scholarship mirror, inform, and compliment each other. The essay specifically considers how the New Testament's focus on social activism mirrors social justice research and how the Old Testament Book of Proverbs offers advice for researchers interested in cultivating dialogic civility.
