Abstract
As tetrahymena thermophila is a highly ciliated single celled protozoan, it was chosen to be an experimental model in our study. We have characterized ciliary structures of tetrahymena thermophila using AFM. Tetrahymena cells were grown at 25 0 C in the axenic medium of Dentler without shaking for one week. Cells were then collected and washed for three times with PBS buffer.
