Description
...Let's turn to two passages of Scripture. First of all, Galatians, chapter 2 and verse 20. And passion, I believe, is something so absolutely essential to Christian living. I cannot understand how someone can say they love Jesus and not be passionate about it. They are passionate Communists, there are passionate Muslims, there are passionate Buddhists, there are passionate football players and football supporters. So why not, in the name of Jesus, be passionate Christians? And the Apostle Paul was a man of intense passion. In Galatians, chapter 2, verse 20, he says these words I have been crucified with Christ. It's no longer I who live, but Christ that lives in me, the life which I now live in the flesh. I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and delivered himself up for me. Now turn to Philippians, chapter 1, where the Apostle Paul articulates for us his whole conception of life, his understanding of what it meant to be a Christian, to be a man or a woman of God. And brothers and sisters, let's not just see he was a unique individual. We, as his people, are called to be like him. He's a model for us, a pattern, an example that we should model our lives around. In Philippians, chapter 1, verse 21, he says, for me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
