As early as 1901, Mr. Lyman Stewart, a Christian layman with a zeal for the Lord's service and an almost prophetic eye to the future, had planned for the Bible Institute. Mr. Stewart and Mr. Horton became co-founders of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles.
Founded in 1908 as a school exclusively for the study of the Bible and offering a two-year course of study, the Bible institute of Los Angeles has grown rapidly over the years.
