Description

Sandra Richter, speaks on the importance of caring for creation, as part of the Sabbath.

Richter's point, with her detailed description of the problem, was that God cares about how we steward creation - the garden and its animals - and that Sabbath practices should be integrated into our daily experience. She grounded her points in Deuteronomic law, noting the ways in which God commanded unconventional stewardship practices for Israel, in stark contrast to the nations around them.

Creation care reflects the character of God, Richter concluded.
